Beverley Library to move to a digital-first model

Published 20 January

Beverley Library will move to a digital-first model from the spring, giving residents access to a modern, flexible service.

Under the new model, the majority of the library's services will be available online at any time. Physical stock will be reduced to reflect changing patterns of use. Staffed opening hours will be reduced, and the building will operate on a self-service basis outside these hours where practicable.

The Council said the change would "protect the long-term future of the library service" and "meet residents where they are". Residents without internet access will be signposted to alternative provision. Alternative provision is being identified.
